Muscatine Journal And News Tribune - Tuesday, May 15, 1928 - Jerome J Metzger, 72 died at the home of his daughter, Mrs E.V. Bishop, 614 Fulliam Ave. this morning at 9:45 after an illness with cancer for one year.

Jerome Metzger was born in Stroudsburg, PA Sept 28, 1846. Surviving are 7 children, 4 daughters: Mrs Arthur Niepert, Fruitland; Mrs Jessie Brownlee, Rock Island, IL; Mrs E.V. Bishop, Muscatine; and Mrs Sylvia Pettitt, Muscatine; three sons: Ernest, LeRoy, and Raymond, all of this city; one sister Mrs Ella Gory, Muscatine.

Funeral services will be conducted at 12 noon at the Wittich Funeral Home and 2:30 at the Spring Run church by the Rev Ira Hawley. Burial in the Spring Run cemetery.
