Darlene Rose Palmer, 65, of Williamsburg, passed away April 8, 2017.

Darlene was a native of Garrett, Kentucky and Williamsburg resident since 1972. A caregiver, Darlene was employed with Home Instead Home Health Care in Newport News, Virginia. She was also previously employed with Dr. A.L. Wilding in Williamsburg, Virginia.

Darlene enjoyed gardening, watching University of Kentucky basketball, shopping and going to yard sales. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Darlene, fondly known as "MeMaw", enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include Darlene's husband, Arnold H. Palmer; son Andrew H. Palmer; daughter Christine Delo (Ryan) and granddaughter Haley Delo; sisters, Ethel Hunter of Loveland, OH, and Ruth Battle(Jim) of Orange Park, FL; 4 brothers, Danny Hicks of Lexington, KY, Bobby Hicks (Cherry) of Clay City, KY, Scotty Hicks (Ellie), and Joe Hicks, both of Lexington, KY and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 13, 2017 from 12:00-1:00pm at Nelsen Funeral Home, 3785 Strawberry Plains Road, Williamsburg, Virginia 23188 with the service following immediately. Interment will be at Williamsburg Memorial Park, 130 King William Drive, Williamsburg, Virginia 23185.
