Mrs. Anna M. Beatley, widow of the late Henry G. Beatley, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. Schuyler Stoddard, at 305 West Seneca street last night at 10:55 o’clock after an illness of two weeks with pneumonia.
Mrs. Beatley had been an invalid for a year and as soon as pneumonia developed it was not expected that she would recover.
Mrs. Beatley was born in Boston 66 years ago, and with her husband came to this city in 1878 from Calais, Me. After resideing here till 1902, the family moved to Marquette, Mich., where they lived until about a year ago, when Mr. Beatley died. Last May Mrs. Beatley and daughter, Mrs. Blankley, moved to this city to live with Mr. and Mrs. Stoddard.
Owing to the serious illness of Mrs. Stoddard precautions had to be taken to keep her from learning of her mother’s death. The body of the deceased was accordingly quickly removed to the home of Dr. F.B. Howe in East Buffalo street. The funeral will be held from the Episcopal chapel tomorrow at 10 o’clock, the Rev. S.H. Synott officiating. Burial will be made in Lake View cemetery.
Mrs. Beatley, besides her two daughters, Mrs. Stoddard and Mrs. (Grace) Blankley, is survived by one brother, Charles H. Hodgson [sic], of Hyde Park.
