Ronna Ann Witherspoon, 70, of Elgin, passed away on Monday, April 3, 2017 at her residence. A Memorial Service will be held at the Elgin Community Center, 260 N 10th, on Monday, April 10, 2017, at 11:00am.
Ronna was born July 31, 1946 in La Grande, Oregon to Warren and Annie Sanderson Follett. She resided in La Grande, Pendleton, and Louisiana. She graduated from Elgin High School and attended LPN School in Pendleton, OR. She married the love of her life, Carl Dean Witherspoon, and were married for 50 years.
Ronna worked at the Hotlake Nursing Home and Grande Ronde Hospital. She was also a loving and devoted mother to seven children. She enjoyed reading, camping, watching scifi movies, and spending time with her family, which included special moments with her eight grandchildren.
Ronna is survived by her husband, Carl; children, Timothy Witherspoon of Indiana, Wendy Witherspoon of La Grande, Anita Kahut of La Grande, Sarah Witherspoon of Elgin, Tara Doty of Elgin, Jacob Witherspoon of Central OR, Andrew Witherspoon of Elgin; sister, Naomi Jaylene Witherspoon; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 5 nieces and nephews; 5 aunts and uncles. She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Annie, brother, Craig Follett and sister, Wendy Follett.
