Samuel was the son of John Musgrave. Samuel married Elizaebth Brand on Sept, 10, 1767 in Lancaster County, PA. Elizabeth was the daugther of John Brand & Elizabeth Gibson. Samuel & Elizabeth had 11 children together. Samuel & Elizabeth lived in Monongalia County for 28 years. They then moved to Muhlenburg County, KY. Samuel and Elizabeth were living in Cannonchick Settlement in Cumberland County, PA. when Samuel joined in the Militia during the Revolutionary War. During the Rev. War Samuel D. served in Capt. Patrick Jack's company.


He also served in Capt. Crawford's Company and Col. Irvine's regiment. Samuel Davies was also at the battle of Brandywine.
Samuel & his wife then moved to Warrick County, IN. He is buried next to Elizabeth. Samuel has a Revolutionary War tombstone to mark his grave. Davis - Youngblood Cemetery is located in Warrick Co Ind Anderson Twp Hwy 66 to Hwy 61 North to Eble Rd Right Continue 1 Mile and Right Again ,Cemetery is on right 1/2 Mile.
