LAKE MILLS — Izaak A. Newhouse, 37, of Lake Mills, was called to our heavenly kingdom unexpectedly on Friday, March 31, 2017, in his home.
He was born on Aug. 26, 1979, in Appleton, the son of Craig and Dawn (Lenius) Newhouse.
He attended Lake Mills High School with the class of 1998.
In 2002 he began building and maintaining cell phone towers for Blackhawk Tower Communications Inc. in Deerfield. This became his passion. He took peace in climbing up and pride in the work he did. On any given day you would find him on top rather than on the ground.
He loved traveling all over the country to live out his passion. Izaak had seen some pretty sites from hundreds of feet above the ground throughout his lifetime. The horizon of any countryside, the sunrises and sunsets were a beautiful site for him. He shared it with everyone he loved with many photos — never kept it to himself. Anyone who knew him well, knew this was what he did. He never was afraid to talk about work.
Izaak was known for his goofy antics, the love he had for his family, friends and working on cell phone towers. He took pride in what he did, no matter what it was, from his free-hand sketches of cartoon characters or hanging some drywall in someone’s home.
Izaak was a kid at heart. He enjoyed being outside ripping around on his dirt bikes, climbing trees with his boys and building something out of nothing. Izaak enjoyed the sport of golf, whether it be an 18-hole round or just chucking balls at the driving range. Izaak always was there to lend a helping hand with any hard work that needed to be done. He was a jack of all trades.
On Nov. 3, 2007, he married Rachel, and together they have two children, Logan and Zachary. They were the love of his life.
Izaak lived between his passion and his love every day. He had a kind soul who was loving, caring and genuine. He was a risk-taker, a fun-lover and had the bluest eyes. He touched the lives of so many people and he will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his three children: daughter, Emily Fisher of Jefferson, and sons, Logan and Zachary Newhouse; the mother of his children, Rachel (Beale) Newhouse of Waterloo; parents, Scott and Dawn Masche of Lake Mills; sister, Samantha (Matt) Janke of Lake Mills; his grandma, Emmaline Lenius of Watertown; favorite aunt, Ann (John) Garthwait; cousins, Jeremy (Monica) Hepp and Jan Hepp, and their children Cameron, Justine and Carliann, all of Lake Mills. He also is survived by Robert (Ruth) Beale of Lake Mills, Rhiannon (Ben) Stivarius of Watertown and Bobbi Joyce (Dennis) Hockett of Lake Mills. He had six nieces and nephews, Gavin, Amanda, Teagen, Annabelle, Madeline and unborn baby Janke.
He will be missed by many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Izaak was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Bud and Hazel Masche; maternal grandfather, Ronald Lenius; and godfather/uncle, Guy Lenius.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 6, at 11 a.m. at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church, 204 N. 10th St., Watertown, with the Rev. Todd Iverson officiating.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Claussen Funeral Home, 416 W. Lake St. in Lake Mills and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of services.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
