Joe A. Zalman Jr., 77, of El Campo, passed away April 2, 2017. He was born on December 6, 1939 in the Blue Creek Community to the late Joe Zalman Sr. and Albina Minnie Malek Zalman.
Joe was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 251. He was a farmer and rancher and an avid hunter and fisherman. He served on the boards of W.C.E.C., Farmer's CO-OP of El Campo, Catholic Life Insurance and was a past director of Prosperity Bank.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret Zalman and son, Joe A. "Joey" Zalman III.
Visitation begins 2 p.m. Thursday, April 6 at Triska Funeral Home with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral Mass begins 2 p.m. Friday, April 7 at St. Philip Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Rother officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Memorial Park.
