Lucille Laverne (Anderson) Brown was born December 31, 1911, in Grandfield, Oklahoma to William D. and Mary Estelle (Munday) Anderson. She attended Chattanooga Public School. She owned and operated a restaurant and night club in Faxon for several years prior to working at Ray’s Pharmacy in Lawton. After moving to Frederick, she was employed at Seay’s Drug. Lucille loved to cook and was well known for her fried chicken and homemade pies. She and her sister Thelma cooked for the civic clubs in Frederick for many years. She always had a special place in her heart for all the young men whom she cooked for through the years. She was a tough, independent, strong willed lady who knew many adversities in her life.
