Emma Ray was born August 7, 1867 in Morgan County, Indiana to Elisha F. Ray and Catherine Ware. She married George Gray on Feb. 6, 1890 in Cumberland County, Illinois. They had a son, Hubert Gray who was born November 1888.

She later married Zara Corbain Hoye on Jun 3, 1891 in Cumberland County, Illinois. (Her name on this marriage record is Emma Gray). They had a daughter Lula Hoye who was born on Feb 1, 1893. Emma also had 2 other children. A daughter named Carrie Weatherholt and a son named Roy Phyne.

The daughter, Carie Weaterholt, was born April 1886. Carrie's father is John Weatherholt. The son, Roy Phyne, was born on Aug 5, 1894. Roy's father was George Phyne. Emma Ray also married George Riley Pritchard in 1895. On the 1910 census Emma and George Pritchard are living in Brazil, Clay County, Indiana. Emma died July 5, 1927 in Brazil, Clay County, Indiana.
