She was born on November 10, 1926, to Martin and Gladys (Erickson) Grams. She attended Crown Christian Day School and high school in St. Francis, MN.
She worked various jobs before marrying Spencer Angstman on June 18, 1955. After their wedding, Shirley was a homemaker and assisted Spencer as a financial secretary for his restaurant business and farm. Shirley loved music her whole life, especially dancing, and attending Broadway shows with her family. She enjoyed baseball and loved to watch the Minnesota Twins.
Shirley was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother who shared her Christian faith with others. She was a former member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church in Cambridge, MN, and was currently a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston, MN.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Alayne (Ben) Dorn of Lewiston, MN; son, Bryan (Jannel) Angstman of San Pedro, CA; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Coty) Tiedemann of Greenville, SC and Luke Dorn; sisters-in-law, Velma (Merlin) Wesloh, Harriet Holton and Carol (Ken) Maul; brother-in-law, Myron (Suzanne) Angstman; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephew, other loving relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, brother, Stanley Grams; sister, Elaine Anderson; sister-in-law, Rose Grams-Knoph; and a niece, Penny Grams.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lewiston.
Shirley will be laid to rest with graveside services at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2017, at the Baldwin Township Cemetery near Princeton, MN. The Reverend Jason Schulz of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Cambridge, MN will officiate.
