Lexington Clipper-Herald, April 26, 2003: Services for T.R. "Bob" Lemmon, 84, Cozad, will be at 1:30 p.m., Monday, April 28, 2003, at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel in Cozad, with Rev. Matt Coplen officiating. Burial will be in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery at Maxwell with military honors. Visitation will be today, April 27, from 1 to 5 p.m. and Sunday, April 28, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad. Bob died Monday, April 21, 2003, at his home in rural Cozad. He was born Nov. 15, 1918, at Ainsworth to B.R. "Burt" and Imo (Melius) Lemmon. He attended Lucerne Valley rural school and graduated from Cozad High School in 1935. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and later returned to the family farm northwest of Cozad. In 1942, he enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving until 1945 with the highly decorated 101st Airborne Division. He received several service awards for combat in Normandy, Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe. Following his discharge, Bob returned to his family farm site where he was active in farming and cattle feeding until his death. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church, a life-time member of VFW Post 5132 in Gothenburg and a charter member of the Cozad Elks Lodge. Survivors include a brother, Lynn (Ella) Lemmon, Holdrege; sister-in-law, Lois Lemmon, Cozad; brother-in-law, George Piester, Minden; and four nephews, Randy Lemmon, Lincoln, Rick (Tamra) Lemmon, Cozad, David (Cindy) Piester, Lincoln, and Kent (Janet) Piester, Houston, Texas. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lois Piester and a brother, Dale. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice in his memory. Berryman Funeral Home in Cozad is in charge of arrangements.
