Obituary for Gerald O. Atkeisson
Gerald Otis Atkeisson was born on March 4, 1938 in Corsicana to Ettie Mae and Otis Atkeisson. He went peacefully to be with the Lord on October 9, 2016. He is survived by his wife of 43 years Donna; children Karl and Louann Humphries of Corsicana, Lori and Gilbert Hippard of Corsicana and Mike and Kelly Humphries of Leander; grandchildren Brandy and Mike Hurford, Jessica Brown, Josh and Lindsey Brown, Alex and Shane Howard, John Grady and Mikayla Hippard, Chris Humphries, Erika Arthur and Ana Arthur; great grandchildren Macon, Kegan, Rhys, Stone, Cameron, Oliver and Benjamin. He is also survived by numerous cousins and close friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and his son Mike Atkeisson.
Gerald graduated from Corsicana High School in 1956 and attended Navarro College. He served his country in the United States Army in the Korean War. Gerald was a loyal employee of Navarro County Electric Co-op for 41 years. He was very active in the community serving with the Optimist Club, Corsicana Masonic Lodge #174, Navarro County Chamber of Commerce and was instrumental with the construction of the Navarro County Youth Expo where he served as chairman of the board for many years.
Visitation will be Thursday, October 13th from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. at Northside Baptist Church with funeral service following at 11:00 a.m. with Dr. Rick Lamb officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association 912 Killian Hill Road, S.W. Lilburn, GA 30047 or the Navarro County Youth Expo P.O. Box 96 Barry, TX 75102.
