STOKESDALE, NC ~ Henry Jay Southern, 49, died Tuesday, March 28, 2017, at Annie Penn Hospital.
The funeral service will be held at 1 pm, Friday, March 31, 2017, at Colonial Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment will follow in the Aarons Corner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in the Aarons Corner Community, Stokes County, N.C.
Mr. Southern was born May 19, 1967 in Rockingham County to Walter Berkley Southern and Hester Mae Bullins Southern.
He was a past employee of Klaussner Home Furnishings, enjoyed golfing, hunting, and fishing and was a Duke basketball fan.
He was preceded in death by sister, Sara Southern.
In addition to his parents, survivors include son, Christian Jay Southern; daughters: April Rena Watkins (Jordan) and Kimberly Dawn Brewer (Travis); brothers: Lee (Robin), Ray, Rocky (Michele) and Jimmie Southern (Mary Sue); sisters: Mary Jane Norman (Leroy) and Tammy Jo Carry; grandchildren: Preston Brewer, Kassie Brewer, Madelyn Watkins, Jordan Watkins, Alaina Brewer and Levi Brewer; and special friends: Chyna Welch, Nathan Tuttle, Vickie and Fred Welch.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm, Thursday, at Colonial Funeral Home and all other times at his residence.
