Doris Carney London was born May 16, 1929 in Huntsville, Alabama to the late Alberta and Robert Jordan. She transitioned from this earthly life to eternal life, God's will being done on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the young age of 87.

Mother Carney received her education from the Metropolitan Davidson County School System.

Mother Carney was employed by Edna Turner (Patsy) where she worked until her retirement.

Mother Carney professed a belief in Christ at an early age. She united with Glenn's Tabernacle United Primitive Baptist Church in the early 1970's. She served faithfully as President of the Mother's Board. She also served as President of the Pastor's Aid Auxiliary. Mother Carney was an active member of the Mother's Union of the Big Harpeth United Primitive Baptist Association where she has served as Chaplain.

Mother Carney's spirit did not reflect her age. Her happiness, cheerfulness, enjoyment, fun and laughter brought smiles and joy to any that graced her presence. Mother Carney simply loved life and believed that every day was precious. She lived life to its fullest each and every day.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee London; two sons, Joseph and Eddie Frank Carney and son-in-law, Kenneth Allison.

Those left to cherish precious memories are four daughters, Yvonne Christopher, Gloria (Charles) Blair, Debra Allison and Georgia Carney (Calvin); stepsisters, Billie Irving and Janet Jordan; stepbrother, Jimmy Jordan; six grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
