His obituary stated he was a native of Anderson County and had lived in Greenwood for 25 years. He was employed by Greenwood Mills, Mathews Plant, and attended Central Baptist Church.
Survived by his wife; two sons and two daughters; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Christine Martin (later Christine C. Cane) of Piedmont and Mrs. Norman (Maude C.) Smith of Greenville; and three brothers, Dillard Crawford and Claude Crawford, both of Greenville, and Elbert Crawford of Chicago, IL (later Dyersburg, TN).
Funeral services: Thursday, September 12, 1963, Central Baptist Church.
Burial: Greenwood Memorial Gardens
As was still often the custom of the day, the body was returned to the family home for visitation, where it remained until time for the funeral.
