DAVENPORT — Funeral services for Diane I. Duckworth, 65, of Davenport, will be 10 a.m. Monday, March 27, 2017, at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport. Burial will follow at Davenport Memorial Park. The family will greet friends 1-3 p.m. Sunday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport. A rosary will immediately follow the visitation at 3 p.m.

Mrs. Duckworth died unexpectedly Thursday, March 23, at Genesis Medical Center-East Rusholme Street, Davenport.

Diane Isabella Cortez was born Sept. 28, 1951, in Moline, the daughter of Bernard and Lupe (Vasquez) Cortez. Following her graduation from Alleman High School, Rock Island, she married Oran “Dale” Duckworth on Valentine’s Day, Feb. 14, 1970.

She was employed for 15 years at Davenport Lutheran Home and then began work as a day care provider. She was known to all as “Mom,” “Grandma” and “GG.” Mrs. Duckworth was a longtime and very active member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church, Davenport, where she also taught CCD until her failing health. She was a beautiful lady, both inside and out.

She is survived by her husband, Oran “Dale” Duckworth, Davenport; a daughter, Brandi (Willie Watson) Duckworth, Silvis; two sons, Stephen (Erin) Duckworth, Lakeville, Minnesota, and Paul Duckworth, Davenport; three brothers, David Cortez and Marcus (Laura) Cortez, both of Rock Island, and Mario Cortez, Albuquerque, New Mexico; a sister-in-law, Bertha Cortez; nine grandchildren, Zach, Dylan, Cole, Drake, Alexis, Devin, Ryan and Madison; two great-granddaughters, Hayden and Grace; and two great-grandsons, Jacob and Daniel.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Lawrence and Butch, and a grandson, Austin.
