He was born Aug. 24, 1923, in Lynnville, Tenn., to William O. and Pearl A. Brown Sharpe.
Surviving are four sons, Anthony of West Peoria, James of Pekin, and Thomas R. and William C., both of East Peoria; one daughter, Sherry Gregory of Washington; one brother, Charles of Creve Coeur; and four sisters, Brownie Creek of Pekin, Dorothy Davis of Bloomington, Zella Dobbs of Mathis, Texas, and Mary Vaden of Nashville, Tenn. One brother preceded him in death.
He was a hand trucker at Caterpillar Inc. for 32 years. A World War II Army veteran, he received the Purple Heart and three bronze stars.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
