His second wife died of the same condition on 21 Jan 1926, in Crawford County's Johnson township.

Levi H. Brown, a citizen of English for several years, succumbed to acute indigestion after two days’ illness. His death occurred at his home here at four o’clock Saturday afternoon. He was seventy-seven years old and a veteran of the civil war, serving for three years with Company D, 23rd Regiment, Indiana Volunteers, and was wounded once.
He is survived by his widow; [and daughters,] Mrs. Edna Brown of Kansas; Mrs. F. A. Scott, of Waterloo, Ia., and another who lives at Indiana Harbor; and one son, George Brown, of Leavenworth.
The funeral was held Monday afternoon and burial was in the cemetery at Tower. The deceased had been a member of the Masonic fraternity for fifty-one years and the burial service of that order was held at the grave, Crawford Lodge No. 470, of English, being in charge. --The Crawford County Democrat (English, Indiana); Thursday, 11 May 1922; pg. 1, col. 6
