Angel, Michigan Dec. 9
Mrs. Amanda Smedley, wife of John Smedley, died at her home here Saturday night at 11:30 o'clock, at the age of 57 years. She had been ill for some time with the grip. The deceased was widely known through this section, as she had spent most of her life in Grand Traverse county, coming here when but seven years of age. She had a large circle of friends who will miss her greatly. Besides her husband, Mrs. Smedley leaves three sons and four daughters, two sisters, Mrs. Sam Smedley and Mrs. Fred Delzell, a half brother Charles Holman, and two half sisters, Mrs. J. W. Milliken and Mrs. John T. Beadle, also survive. The funeral will be held tomorrow afternoon from the Congregational church, the Rev. Demas Cochlin officiating. The arrangements are in charge of W. S. Anderson. The pall bearers will be taken from among the members of McPherson Post, of which Mr. Smedley is a member.
Amanda was the daughter of David Dickensheets and Harriet Thacker.
