Velma May Anderson, 79, of Clarkridge, Arkansas passed away on Monday, March 20, 2017 in Clarkridge. She was born March 5, 1938 to the late Dave and Frances (Oels) Trivitt in Clarkridge. She married L. Carson in 1955 and Jerel Anderson in West Plains, Missouri in 1961. Velma is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; two brothers and husband in 1979. She relocated to Mountain Home in 1996 from Gainesville, Missouri. Velma is a former owner of Anderson Drilling and pump sales, excavation and home building. She was on the board of the first Lick Creek Fire Department, representative of American Cancer Society of Ozark County in the eighties, where she was awarded a plaque for appreciation for notable assistance in the Crusade to Conquer Cancer. Velma retired from Baxter International in 2004. She loved watching car racing and the Kansas City Royals.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Leon (Susie) Carson of Clarkridge, Arkansas, Jim (Deana) Anderson of Mountain Home, Arkansas, Jeff Anderson of Gainesville, Missouri; two daughters and son-in-law, Jereldene Brandon of Midway and Jackie (Pernell) Jennings of Flippin; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior (Anita) Trivitt and Harlin (Connie) Trivitt all of Clarkridge, Arkansas; four sisters, Lorene White of Howards Ridge, Arkansas, Luevone Floyd of Westwood, California and Louise (Don) Larsen of Gardnerville, Nevada and Nadine Trivitt of Mountain Home; a sister-in-law, Alma Trivitt of Clarkridge, Arkansas; 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and three step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren; very special friend, Sonny Kasinger of Mountain Home, Arkansas and Chris, Teresa and Morgan Abbot of Iowa.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at the Conner Family Funeral Home.
