Sarah "Sally" (McDonough) Rothrock, 71, passed from this life on Monday, March 20, 2017, at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas, with her loving husband, Joe Rothrock by her side.
The most important thing in Sally's life was her family, which is why she fought so hard to live in her battle against AML. She truly was one of a kind and will be missed every day by her family. She was a loving wife, wonderful mother and the best "Nana" anyone could ask for. Sally loved spending time with her family more than anything in this world. She had the best sense of humor that always made special appearances while playing board games with her family during the holidays. Sally enjoyed going on motorcycle rides with Joe and weekend trips to Belterra. Her favorite vacation spot was Gulf Shores, Alabama. Sally was a huge Elvis fan and saw him in concert three times. She was an avid seashell collector and loved watching the Wheel of Fortune with Joe.
In her younger years, Sally worked for Stewart Sandwich Company and later spent the rest of her working career at Republic Bank as a Deposit Services Supervisor. Sally was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and had recently become a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution Ann Rogers Clark Chapter in Jeffersonville, IN.
Sally is preceded in death by her parents, James and Amy Reed McDonough, her brothers, James Reed "Shanty" McDonough and Robert "Bobby" McDonough and her stepdaughter, Laura Rothrock Howard.
Sally is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Joe Rothrock of Jeffersonville, IN; daughter: Dana Botkins Crawley (Zev) of Jeffersonville, IN; two brother, Charles Elvin McDonough (Martha) of Sevierville, TN, Thomas Edward McDonough Sr. of Jeffersonville, IN.; three grandchildren: Zev Crawley II of Mt. Juliet, TN; Pierce Crawley, of Jeffersonville, IN and Meghen Howard Barker (Brian) of Jeffersonville, IN; great granddaughter: Sarah Barker; and three grand dogs: Lucy, Oliver and Major.
