John J. Faggerty Dies Here Saturday
"John Joseph Faggerty, 66, a retired Army Sergeant, died at a local resthome at 9:00 A.M. Saturday following an illness of about one year.
The body (??illegible??) is at Buzbee Funeral Home pending completion of arrangements, though it is expected that services will be held at the Buzbee Chapel Monday with burial in Woodland Park.
Faggerty was born April 18, 1891 at Hastings, Pennsylvania and entered in Infantry at Columbus Ohio January 2, 1914. He was sent to Fort Sam Houston in 1926 and came to Camp Wolters in 1941. He was a veteran of World Wars I and II and a member of the American Legion.
During the past year he had been in the Brooke General Hospital at Fort Sam Houston and in the U.S. Army Hospital at Camp Wolters and just recently had entered the resthome." (Source: Mineral Wells Index – Sunday December 8, 1957)

"Funeral services for John Joseph Faggerty, 66, will be held Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. in the Buzbee Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Walter McDade Hewitt (sp?), chaplain of the Farris Amberaus (?? illegible ??) Post of the American Legion officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Park with Buzbee Funeral Home delivering arrangements.
Faggerty, a retired army sergeant died at a local resthome at 9:00 A.M. Saturday, following an illness of about one year.
