Arthur Larson, 74 of Webster City, died Sunday, December 20, 1998 at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. Funeral services were held Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. Burial was in the Dows Cemetery. Graveside rites were conducted by the Dows American Legion Post.

Arthur Larson, son of Arthur and Florence Deilman Larson, was born January 5, 1924 at Dows. He was educated at Dows. During World War II, he served with the U.S. Army Field Artillery under General Patton in the European Theater of Action. On August 3, 1946 he married Berneda Skrovig at Dows. The couple resided in Dows where he was employed at the Dows Creamery. In 1950 they moved to Webster City where he worked at the Fareway Store. For 26 years, he was a route salesman for Carnation. Prior to his retirement in 1986, he worked Nissen's in the maintenance department.

Survivors are his wife Berneda; daughters: Beth Larson of Manhattan Beach, Minnesota; Susan Larson of Altoona; son and daughter-in-law Brad and Diane Larson of Urbandale; granddaughters Chelsey and Rachelle Larson; brother, Robert Larson of Dows and sister, LaVonne Greene of Manhattan, KS.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Donnan, Charles and Max Larson and sister Viola Rahn.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, American Legion Post #191, International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local #650 and enjoyed sports. While in high school at Dows he lettered 10 times in baseball, basketball and football.
