FORMER STATE PRISON GURAD EXPIRES AT 80

H. J. CONNOR DIES AT WAUPUN; METHODIST CHURCH SERVICES

Funeral services for Henry J. Connor, 80, of 229 Walker St., Waupun, who died Tuesday morning at Waupun Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since March 24, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Waupun Methodist Church.

Rev. Dale Jennings will officiate and burial will be in Forest Mound Cemetery at Waupun. Friends may call at the Kohls Co. Funeral Home, Waupun, until 11 a.m. Thursday when the body will be taken to the church to lie in state until the time of services.

Mr. Connor was born April 5, 1885, in Richland County, a son of Mr. and Mrs. George Connor. He married the former Ann Gray on May 24, 1946, at Woodstock, Ill. The couple moved to Waupun where Mr. Connor worked at the state prison until his retirement in 1951. Following retirement they moved to Tucson, Ariz., returning to Waupun three years ago.

Survivors are the widow; four sons, Clarence of Fond du Lac, Denton and Delos of Woodstock, Ill., and John, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Georgianna Miers, Houston, Tex.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Merril Grahl, Lac du Flambeau, and Mrs. Robert Hinkle, Burnett; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
