Mrs. Shirley Mae Guest-Harney, 83, of Cheyenne, Wyoming, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

Mrs. Harney was born on February 10, 1934 in Washingtonville, New York, to Walter and Clara Page, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Harney attended nursing school in South Holland, Illinois. After completing nursing school, she moved to Colorado Springs where she joined Friendship Baptist Church in 1974. She was a faithful member of the Senior Usher Board until her health began to fail and she moved to Cheyenne to live with her daughter, Tamika Johnson and family.

She enjoyed being with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with “Special Friends” Marcene Weekly of Security, CO, Carol Jean and Larry Miller of Steger, IL, and The Wells Family of Chicago Heights, IL, Genevieve Hawthorne of Colorado and The Reverend Dr. Henry Johnson of Colorado, just to name a few.

Mrs. Harney is survived by her children, Albert “Butch” Smith of Henderson, TN, Doreen Faw and husband, Nelson, of Colorado Springs, Lorenzo Guest of Nashville, TN, and Tamika Johnson and husband, Sylvester “Sly” of Cheyenne; sister, Helen Parsell of Pflugerville, TX; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Davenport Guest; her second husband, Bridgefort Harney, Jr.; sister, Jacqueline Page; daughter, Stacy Guest; and step-daughter, Stephanie Harney.
