He was born November 28, 1927 in San Antonio, Texas to Emil Lewis Durocher and Marion Juanita Updyke.
He enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp on February 18, 1946, and became a radio operator. He was a Korean War veteran, and in addition to many stateside postings he completed tours of duty in Japan and Turkey. Emile retired with the rank of Master Sergeant on December 1, 1966 while stationed at Goodfellow AFB in San Angelo, Texas.
On February 10, 1967 he moved his family to Baytown, Texas and worked for the United States Postal Service. He retired after 23 years of service.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Bernice, his oldest son Michael, his brother Russell and his grandson Doug Durocher Lee.
He is survived by his brother Danny Holloway of Hemet, CA.; two sons, Robert Durocher of Baytown and David Durocher and wife Karen of Spring, Texas ; numerous grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends. He was especially fond of his grandson, Daniel Isaac Durocher who doted on him.
Pallbearers will be Mark Hoffman, Mark Wilkerson, Fred Dominguez, Curtis Cornelius, Ryan Rahimzadebates and Mason Cornelius. Honorary pallbearers will be Jared Hoffman and Bruce Smith.
There will be a visitation from 5-8pm, Tuesday, February 28, 2017 and rosary beginning at 7pm held in the chapel of Earthman Baytown Funeral Home, 3919 Garth Road, Baytown, Texas 77521.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1907 Carolina Avenue Baytown, Texas 77520 with Father Edmund Eduarte, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Earthman Memory Gardens Cemetery, 8624 Garth Road
