Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 1, 2007 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Robert Jeffress officiating. Mary Gladys was born March 9, 1929 in Wichita Falls to Burl and Gladys Bryant, both of whom were long time educators in Wichita Falls. Her father also served as the Texas State Rural Superintendent for public schools with his office in the capital building in Austin.

Mary Gladys was a graduate of Wichita Falls High School and Hardin Junior College (now Midwestern State University). She was a life long active member of First Baptist Church, Wichita Falls and accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior there at a very early age. She taught Sunday School and Training Union classes at First Baptist for many years as well as being an active participant in many other church activities. She and her future husband Al were both members of First Baptist beginning with the "cradle roll" department. Following their marriage in 1948, they both attended and served the church in many endeavors.

Mary Gladys was a full time homemaker and had a strong Christian influence on her family and friends. She was an avid and voracious reader and also enjoyed activities and trips with her numerous friends. She was an active member in a number of local, civic and charitable organizations including the American Cancer Society's Reach to Recovery Program, and also performed other volunteer work for Christian organizations. Most recently she enjoyed volunteer work delivering Meals on Wheels with a close friend in her Sunday School class. This is the type of community service that Mary Gladys liked to do because it benefited others that needed help. She will be remembered by her family and many friends for that kind of loving Christian spirit.

Mary Gladys was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Dr. Burl Eugene Bryant. Survivors are her husband of 58 years, Al Flack of Wichita Falls, a daughter, Nancy Colgan and her husband Dale Colgan of Westminster (Denver), Colorado, and their son, Jeff Colgan, 15, a student at Stanley Lake High School in Westminster, Colorado.
