Rachel was blessed to have 4 Grandchild; 11 Great Grandchildren, 6 Great-Great Grandchildren and many nieces, nephews & caring Friends.
Rachel enjoyed life to the fullest enjoying a big family and many friends around Reidsville. She was very active in her churches, Hillview Presbyterian and Thompsonville Baptist, serving in many capacities including teaching Sunday School, Communion preparation and entertained many ministers. She loved to read, travel and cook delicious pound cakes for family and friends.
She retired after 35 years of work in food services at Williamsburg and South End school cafeterias. She also drove a school bus for several years.
Rachel lived in Reidsville all her life and was the baby of 11 children born to Charlie Lewis and Annie Pearson Apple.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cleve Land.
Deceased brothers: Lewis, John, Charlie, E.L. and Little Brother.
Deceased sisters: Laurie King, Ruth Eberhardt, Winnie Newton, Geneva Barnett and Little Mary.
Graveside service was held at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21st, Reidlawn Cemetery.
