HENRY GIROUX
Funeral services for Henry W. Giroux,
68, who passed away November
11, at Elizabethtown Community
Hospital following a short illness, after
a long period of ill health, were
held at 9 a. m. Wednesday, November
14, at St. Philip's Church in
Westport.
Mr. Giroux was born in Whallonsburg
on November 14, 1888, the son
of the late Levi and Mary Jane English
Giroux. He was for many years
associated with the late Arthur Adams
in the firm of Giroux & Adams,
contractors and builders. He retired
in 1946.
He is survived by one daughter,
Mrs. William (Doris) MacDonough,
four grandchildren, one brother Alfred,
all of Westport, and several nieces and nephews. His wife,, Cahterine Lasher, to whom he was married in 1909, died on June 15, 1955.
Mr. Giroux was a communicant of St. Philip's Church and a member of the Holy Name Society.The bearers, all
members of the Westport Volunteer
Fire Department, of which Mr.
Giroux was a charter member, were
Frank Spooner, chief; Freeman Jenks,
Ernest Girard, John Quinn, Clyde
Pooler and Carl O'Dell. Interment
was in the church cemetery.
