A small tornado struck Sandy Ridge and killed three men. Charles Lynn, an employee of the General Refractories Brick Company was killed when a brick wall where Charles was working was toppled over by the strong winds. Charles, along with the two other men, was unable to escape. They all three died instantly.
Charles Lynn is survived by a wife and two children.
