Clarence W. "Coffee" Mitzel, formerly of Dallastown, died at 6am tuesday at Rest Haven York after a lengthy illness. He was 86.

Mr. Mitzel owned and operated two grocery stores, one in Dallastown and one in Windsor Manor, for 25 years before. Before that, he was owner and operator of the Mitzel Cigar Factory in Red Lion.

He was a member of Dallastown United Methodist Church.

Born in York Township, he was the son of the late Clarence H. and Tilleda Paules Mitzel.

He was the husband of the late Olive M. Strawbridge Mitzel and the late Dora R. Ruppert Mitzel.

He leaves a son, C. Nevin Mitzel; three daughters, Muriel Curry, Eloise Ryer and Erdean Slagel; 29 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Viewing is scheduled for 9:30 tomorrow at Burg Funeral Home Inc Red Lion

The service is scheduled to begin at 10:30 am tomorrow at the funeral home, with the Rev. Stephany S. Sechrist, pastor of the Adamsville-Dallastown United Methodist charge, offiating.
burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
