Lonnie (Lonny) Buckner, 84, passed away Friday morning, March 10, 2017 at Southwest Medical Center, Liberal, Kansas.

The son of Cecil and Virginia Buckner, Lonnie Travis Buckner was born November 28, 1932 in Troupe, Texas. He served his country in the United States Air Force, stationed in Korea and Japan. Lonnie had lived and worked in the Oklahoma Panhandle, and in 2015, he moved to the Beaver County Nursing Home.

He is survived by two sisters, Virginia Lee Rowan of rural Kit Carson, CO and Cherrie Brown and husband, Fred (Buster) Brown of rural Cimarron County, OK; numerous nieces and nephews and his adopted family at the Beaver Co. Nursing Home.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Gene Buckner and his brother-in-law, Al Rowan.

Arrangements are entrusted to Henson-Novak Funeral Directors, Guymon. The family will have private services at a later date. www.hensonnovak.com

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be given to the Beaver Co. Nursing Home, c/o Activity Director, 210 8th Street, Beaver, OK 73932.
