DEATH RESULTS FROM INJURY RECEIVED FROM FALL IN GARDEN

Mrs Caroline Watkins passes Away At Her Home Northeast of Sidney, Friday Evening
Funeral at Port Jefferson Monday Afternoon.
After an illness of two weeks and one day, Mrs. Caroline Watkins, an aged resident of Shelby County, passed away at her home four miles north east of Sidney, Friday evening at about 7:30 o'clock.
Mrs. Watkins had been enjoying very good health for one of her age, until about two weeks ago. While out in the garden she accidently fell, her face striking on a piece of old tomato vine. A small part of the remained in her cheek for about a week before it was discovered. By that time, the infection had gone through her entire system and lock jaw developed resulting in her death.
Mrs. Watkins was born and lived forty five years of her life in Auglaize County, when she and her family moved to Shelby County where they have since made their home. She was the daughter of Simeon and Hannah Howell and was born in 1840.
In February, 1860, she was united in marriage to Joseph P. Watkins, who passed away twenty-two years ago. Since that time she has made her home with her son Joseph Watkins.
Ten children were born to this union, two dying while quite young and Alpheus H. Watkins, who died six years ago.
The seven surviving children are: Simeon L. Watkins of Maplewood. George W. and Joseph L. of Sidney, Mrs. Hannah McCord, of Sidney: Mrs. W. F. Brannon, of Wennatchoe, Washington: Mrs. J.A. Overman of Snoheimsh, Washington:and Mrs. Oscar Brown of Davison, Michigan.
The funeral services held at the church of Christ at Port Jefferson, Monday afternoon at 3;00 0'clock. Interment in Glen Cemetery. (84 years 4 months and 5 days.)

Joan, this is a picture of Joseph Palmer Watkins and Caroline Howell Watkins. It includes Joseph Watkins, Joseph P Watkins, Caroline (Howell) and Arilla. In the back row is George W, Hannah McCord, Simeon and Armina Watkins. I hope I have them in the right order.
