Isabelle Jensen
1922 ~ 2017
Virtuous, lovely, of good report and praiseworthy: these are the four main qualities that characterized Sarah Isabelle Jensen throughout her life.
Isabelle passed away on January 14, 2017 in Salt Lake City, UT at the age of 95. Born January 3, 1922 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada to Eldon Tanner and Sara Merrill Tanner, she was 2nd in a line of 5 daughters. She was taught to work hard, look for the good in others, be kind and love the Lord. She was married to Willard (Bill) Jensen for 70 years. His work took them many interesting places, but they always landed back in Canada, where they raised their 5 children.
After Canada, Bill and Isabelle lived in Mexico for 5 years and then moved to Utah, where Isabelle rejoined the workforce. She was the director of public relations for Questar Gas and was extremely successful. She was given Business Woman of the Year award and the Athena award by the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce.
Everywhere they lived, Isabelle served in her church and community and made many friends. She always sought out ways to be of service to others, and people were drawn to her hospitality, charm, strength, and kindness. She also-hands-down-made the best banana cream pie. She was preceded in death by her husband, son John, daughter Julie, and sisters Ruth and Zola. She is survived by her daughter Sally (Mike) Howery, sons Jim Jensen and Bob (Amy) Jensen, 20 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
It was her wish that there be no viewing and no funeral.
