BLUEWATER VILLAGE — Services for Rosia Wanita Council, 71, will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, July 24 at the Central Baptist Church, Grants. Pastor Lonnie Jordan will officiate. Burial will follow at the Bluewater Village Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. prior to services.
Council died July 19 in Bluewater Village. She was born February 15, 1933 in House, N.M.
Council worked for the U.S. Postal Service. She also was a member and past president of the Cibola General Auxiliary and was a poll judge for elections in Bluewater Village.
Survivors include C.L. Bennett of Bluewater Village; sons, Jessie Council of Bluewater Village, John Council of Grants, Terry Council of Bluewater Village; brothers, A.E. Ford of Hobbs, Jessie Ford of Fort Summer, Jakie Ford of Bosque Farms; one grandson and one great-grandson.
Council was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Council; parents, Ervin and Quency Ford; and sister, Garnita "Sis" Joiner.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Council, Jessie Council, Terry Council, John Council, Jessie Ford, and James Joiner, Jr.
