Council worked for the U.S. Postal Service. She also was a member and past president of the Cibola General Auxiliary and was a poll judge for elections in Bluewater Village.
Survivors include C.L. Bennett of Bluewater Village; sons, Jessie Council of Bluewater Village, John Council of Grants, Terry Council of Bluewater Village; brothers, A.E. Ford of Hobbs, Jessie Ford of Fort Summer, Jakie Ford of Bosque Farms; one grandson and one great-grandson.
Council was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Council; parents, Ervin and Quency Ford; and sister, Garnita "Sis" Joiner.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Council, Jessie Council, Terry Council, John Council, Jessie Ford, and James Joiner, Jr.
