Wesley was born on a farm in Manilla, Iowa. He was the youngest of four boys. He enlisted in the army from September 24, 1946 to March 16, 1948. He married and intially worked for the Union Pacific Railroad. He then lived in Maquoketa, Iowa where his first daughter was born, working on a farm. Afterward, lived in Davenport, Iowa where his second daughter was born. He worked at Alcoa for 11 years. He moved to Des Moines, Iowa in 1970. He was a very kind and loving father.
