Johnnie Lamar McCoy, Jr., 73, of Irving, died on Saturday, Jan. 14. Funeral services were held at Riley Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, Jan. 17.
Mr. McCoy was born in Corsicana on May 27, 1915, the son of the late Johnnie Lamar McCoy, Sr. and Letha June Strait McCoy. He had lived in the Dallas-Irving area for approximately 40 years. He was a retired automobile mechanic. He was a veteran of he U.S. Navy in world War II. He was a member of the retired local teamster union. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two children, Rodney Michael McCoy of Wylie and Rhonda Carole McCoy of Dallas; two sisters, Bessie Lera Blakley of Fairy and Lura Fay Licett of Fort Worth; three brothers, Loice M. McCoy of Fort Worth, Charlie McCoy of Haltom City and J. D. McCoy of Burleson; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Pallbearers were Gary McCoy, Charles McCoy, Jack Robinson, Jack McCoy, Pee Wee McCoy, and Bill McCoy.
