Vivian C. Gaynor
Vivian (Comer) Gaynor, age 90, of Shenandoah, Va., passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at Whispering Pines Assisted Living in Luray, Va. She was born on July 9, 1926, in Shenandoah, Va.
She was a member of First Christian Church of Shenandoah, where she served as an elder, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was active in the CWF. She also belonged to other organizations, such as Food for Friends and Shenandoah Crafters Club, Edith Rebekah Lodge and the Eastern Star. Vivian worked for the Town of Shenandoah for 31 years as the town treasurer and clerk.
On June 26, 1971, She married James “Pat” Patrick Gaynor, who preceded her in death on June 17, 2015.
She is survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Lee Comer; mother, Ella (May) Comer; sisters, Helen Koontz, Margaret Frye, Lillian Burner and Beatrice Bower; and brother, Lester Ray Comer.
A graveside service will be held Thursday, March 16, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Coverstone Cemetery in Shenandoah, Va.
Memorial contributions can be made to Blue Ridge Hospice, 333 W. Cork St., Winchester, VA 22601, or the Oak Grove United Methodist Church in Shenandoah, Va.
