Mrs. Lucille Fern Floyd Flint Lipscomb, age 96, a resident of Belington, departed this life Sunday afternoon March 12, 2017 in the Barbour County Good Samaritan Society at Belington where she had been a resident for the past two months. Death was following a period of declining health.

She was born April 26, 1920 at Mannington, WV, a daughter of the late Russell and Viola Tippi Bosley Floyd.
She was twice married first on July 19, 1945 to Richard T “Dick” Flint, who preceded her in death on March 11, 1981 and 2nd on November 4, 1999 to GF. “Jay” Lipscomb, who preceded her in death on April 25, 2006.

She is survived by one daughter; Tippi L. Charnoplosky and husband George of Belington, two step children; Mary Francis Poling and Gil Lipscomb both of Philippi, two grandchildren; Lori L Charnoplosky of Raleigh, North Carolina, and John R. Charnoplosky and companion Sherry Wallace of Fairmont, and her care giver; Brenda Bennett. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews and a whole host of friends

In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by six brothers; Ralph Floyd, Veryl Floyd, William Floyd, Millard Floyd, Dane Floyd, and Darrel Floyd, two sisters; Martha Bargeron and Ivy Taylor.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Lucille was a graduate of the Mannington High School and the Marietta Business College. She was previously employed by Kane & Keyser Hardware in Belington for several years, the Broaddus Hospital business office and lastly for Lois K. Wilson CPA in Belington. She was a long time member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Belington where she played the organ faithfully for over 60 years. In the past few years she had been attending the Weaver Church of the Nazarene before her health no longer allowed her attend. She was a member of several organizations; they included the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #41 of Philippi, The Federated Woman Club, a member of the Asbury United Methodist Woman, and the Ernest Workers Sunday School Class at Asbury UM Church.
She loved to crochet and work cross word and word search puzzles. Lucille was a loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends will be received at the Talbott Funeral 56 N. Brandenburg Street in Belington on Wednesday March 15, 2017 from 5-9 pm. At 7:30pm on Wednesday there will a Ritualist service conducted by the Order of Eastern Chapter #41 of Philippi from the funeral home. On Thursday March 16, 2017 Mrs. Lipscomb will be moved to the Asbury United Methodist Church where friends may call from 10-11am the funeral hour when final rites will be conducted with the Pastor Johnny Paul Williams II officiating. Interment will then follow in the Fraternal Cemetery near Belington. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Asbury United Methodist Church 134 S. Beverly Pike Belington, WV 26250. Condolences can be sent to the family at www.talbottfuneralhome.com.
