Sherm was born in Woods Cross, Utah on October 1, 1921 to Walter Henry Moss and Blanche Cahoon Moss. He was the 3rd of six children. He rode the Bamburger train to attend Davis High School. He married Vera Pauline O’Brien on June 20, 1940. He left his wife and a baby girl to serve during WWII with the NAVY. Upon his return in 1946, he resumed life in Woods Cross, Utah delivering milk for the Moss dairy. He later was a partner at Redwood Camper and Trailer Sales in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served for 11 years in the bishopric of the Woods Cross 1st Ward. He built a beautiful home where he lived for over 60 years. It was the place for summer fun! Sherm loved his garden. Many shared in his bounteous harvest each year. He also loved a good deal, fishing, making meat pies to share, tomatoes straight from the garden, and mashed potatoes-extra gravy! He could fix almost anything and he spent many hours working in his wood shop.
He was preceded in death by his eternal companion Vickie on July 21, 1995; also by his parents, siblings LeRoy, Betty (Willey), Connie (Cleverly), and Pat (Scoffield), his daughter Sheila Joy, and his grandson Christopher Kurtis Moss.
He is survived by his children Douglas (Sharon), Kurtis (Jenny), Kristin (Kris) Rasband, Marianne (Richard) Morris, 20 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, his sister Ruth Cleverly, a sister-in-law Charlene O’Brien, and many nieces and nephews.
