Ms. Laura (Ard) Linton, a native of Summerdale, Al. and resident of Foley, AL. passed away Tuesday, December 20,2016. Ms. Linton was a devout Christian woman and was a walking testimony to all who knew her. She was always giving of herself and put her children first in all she did. Along with her giving heart she had an amazing work ethic that she passed on to her children. She would always say "A hard day’s work never hurt anybody”.
Ms. Linton was a master quilter and won many awards for her quilting. She had a compassion for the elderly and devoted much of her time making quilts for them to keep warm. There were many positions Ms. Linton held during her life and no matter what each of them were she always gave her all to fulfill every expectation. She was a loving, caring and giving woman and will be greatly missed by all.
Ms. Laura Linton was preceded in death by the love of her life R.J. Linton and her parents Charles and Della (Howard) Ard. She is survived by her six children; Cookie Pruette, son Richard Linton, daughter Laurie Elmore, son Ray Linton, son Charlie Linton and daughter Theresa Gillaspie; seven grandchildren; six great grandchildren, two brothers Oscar and Richard Ard; and two sisters Essie Underwood and Helen Kilgore.
Funeral services for Ms. Laura Ard Linton will be held Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at Pine Rest Funeral Home starting at 11:00am with visitation one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will take place at Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery immediately follow the funeral service.
The family suggests that memorial donations be made to the Pleasant View Baptist Church Cemetery Fund 19197 County Road 12 South Foley, AL 36535.
