On October 4 1859 in New Salem, Illinois, Ewing and Eliza (Shannon) Bowman were blessed by the birth of a daughter that they named Theodosia. On December 25 1884, at the age of 25, she married Mr Philip Walker Ferree in Deer Creek, IL. To this union 8 children were born; Iva, Clark, Mary Eliza, Arthur Theodore, Haris Ewing, Oscar, Vern and Nellie. They lived in Deer Creek, IL, Goodland, KS, Las Animas, CO, Matheson, CO and Pueblo, CO. She was survived by her husband, Philip; two daughters, Mary Ferree and Nellie (Grover) Feary; one son, Arthur Ferree; her grandchildren, Herbert, Phillip, Beulah, Roberta, Dolores, Gladys and Paul; her brothers, George, Enos and Harvey Bowman; her sister, Annie; nephews, nieces and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Iva; her sons, Clark, Haris, Oscar and Vern; her brother, Deloss and her sisters, Harriet and Myria. The funeral took place on July 25 1942 at 11am in the Roselawn Chapel in Pueblo, CO. The Rev W R Burnett officiated. The George F McCarthy Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements. Theodocia was laid to rest in a single grave at Roselawn Cemetery in Pueblo, CO.
