Robert Baird was a 1939 graduate of Godwin HS,1941 graduate of GR Junior College and 1943 graduate of Michigan State University.During World War ll, he served in the Pacific theatre in the 41st Bombardment Group,as a B-25 crew member.After the war he joined the Michigan National Guard ,retiring in 1981 with the rank of Colonel.
