Frank was the oldest of six children born to George W. and Frances (Stubblefield) Sharp. He had one half-brother from his father's second marriage.
He married Mary Gilson in 1885. There were six children born to this union:

Frank Sharp, formerly of Dublin, but for the last eight months residing in Cullison, Kansas, died there last Tuesday of dropsy, and the remains were brought here to be interred in the Waters cemetery, west of Blue, April 26.
