Fred D. Schlabach, 80, of Arthur died 2:40 a.m. Thursday, (Dec. 24, 1987) in his home.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday in family's residence. McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Sullivan, is in charge of arrangements. Burial will be in Yoder Cemetery, Arthur.

Mr. Schlabach was born in Garrett County, Md., son of Daniel and Abbie Schlabach. He was a retired farmer and bee keeper. He was a member of Old Order of Amish Faith. He married Mary Yoder in 1928. She died in 1968. He later married Mattie Yoder in 1971.

Surviving are his wife; sons, Louis of Sullivan; Willard, Daniel, Eli and Harley, all of Arthur; daughters, Mrs. Ben (Lena) Schrock of Arcola; Mrs. Jacob (Abbie) Beachey of Ludington, Mich.; Mrs. Harvey (Sadie) Plank of Arcola; Mrs. Melvin (Annie Ellen) Otto of Arthur; Fannie Marie Schlabach of Arthur; stepson, John Yoder of Middlebury, Ind.; sisters, Katie Ann Kauffman of Arthur; Alma Yoder of Lovington; Mary Ellen Schlabach of Arcola; 64 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-step-grandchildren.

One brother, one sister, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild preceded him in death.
