Joanna Hill-Mills 84 of Danville transitioned from this life at 10:21am, March 9, 2017 at Danville Care. Joanna was the eleventh of thirteen children born to Elder Clifford and Mrs. Gertrude Hill in Alvin, IL.
Joanna attended Alvin Grade School and was employed at Hedricka Nursing Home in Henning, IL as a Nursing Assistant. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. John Mills. He preceded her in death.
Joanna was a nurturer. She enjoyed caring for the elderly and the sick. Joanna was the personal caregiver for her invalid Grandmother Lucy Willis until her death. Above all else, Joanna loved spending time with her nieces and nephews; they loved and adored her.
Joanna leaves to grieve her absence her Sister/Guardian Mary Wilkins of Danville, IL, Brother Nathaniel (Mary) Hill of Minn., Sister Sarah (Tony) Phelps of CA, Brother John Hill and a host of nieces and nephews.
Joanna was preceded in death by her parents, four Brothers and four Sisters.
A Memorial Service will commence at 12’noon, Monday, March 13, 2017 at Leek & Sons Funeral Home 304 East Williams Street, Danville. Visitation will begin at 11’am until the start of the service. Officiating Pastor Thomas W. Miller.
