Son of Bill and Lily (Morley) Bryan.Brother of Hannah, Lily, Doris, Hilda and Roland who sadly died at a Very young age.
Father of Jacqueline, Jane, Robert, John, Diane and Mark.
My dad was a bit of a lad and I don't think my mother would mind me saying that. He loved a good old natter with many an old or young lady and would sit down on the wall outside his home and talk for ages, although later on he would swear he didn't remember or had not heard a thing that was said!
He loved a bet on the horses, watching darts and snooker on the telly later in life.
Lived for quite a lot of his married life in the old coal miner's village called "The White City" in Kiveton Park. Sheffield. Sadly that has been demolished to make way for an upmarket housing estate.
Many people will recalled my dear old dad running about the village in his little old mini car with a Yorkshire terrier dog in the front seat with him.
Well known and well loved by most who knew him, when he died the church was over flowing with people.
In a very strange twist of fate Jack's wife (Doris) was born at Jack's mother's house when they were boarding with her in Poolsbrook. At a very young age Doris moved away to Mansfield area with her parents. Jack once again met up with his future wife many years later when he was travelling with the fair in the Sutton-In-Ashfield area and they were together for nearly fifty years.
Another twist although this one is so very sad Jack died on his wife's birthday in 1999 and since that day Doris no longer celebrates her birthday....she will be 78 year old this May.
Was always as fit as a fiddle he died so suddenly we didn't have a chance to say goodbye.
