Harriett Ida Francis Benson, 76, of Sycamore, died on Sunday, Dec. 29, 1991, at St. Anthony's Medical Center in Rockford.
She was born on March 24, 1915, in Monona, Iowa, the daughter of Frank and Mabel (Bentine) Moyer. She married Stanley "Stub" Benson on June 9, 1934, in DeKalb.
She and her husband were longtime Sycamore and Clare area farmers.
She was a member of the Mayfield Congregational Church and the Kishwaukee Community Hospital Auxiliary, and had been employed by the DeKalb Public Hospital and Kishwaukee Community Hospital as an X-ray technician.
Survivors include two sons, Gerald (Mavis) Benson of Asheville, N.C. and Keith (Lori) Benson of Rockford; two daughters, Elaine (Jim) Lock of River Forest, Ill. and Judith (Mike) Leonard of Camarillo, Calif.; one brother Robert (Kathy) Moyer of San Diego, Calif.; four sisters, Christina Marshall of the Shabbona Health Care Center, Loretta Hoskins of Janesville, Wis., Magdalene Ganman of DeKalb, and Mary (Don) Boltz of Janesville, Wis.; 11 grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband in 1982.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am Saturday at the Quiram-Sycamore Funeral Home, with the Rev. Nancy J. Foellmer officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Park Cemetery in DeKalb. Visitation will be from 2:30-4 pm and 6-8 pm. Friday , at the funeral home.
