Florence Grove was born in Washington, a daughter of Ezra Israel Campbell and Florence Emma Woodruff. She had siblings Nellie Maud, Bessie May, Charles Ray, William Wallace, Eva Dell, twins Pearl 1886–1886 and Earl 1886–1886, Byard Ezra, Myrtle Lillian, Joseph 1891–?, Orval 1893–?, Orrald C. 1896–? and Joseph Woodruff.

Her family lived in Brooklyn, Washington in 1900 where her father worked in the real estate business. By 1910 they were in Walla Walla and her father was a wagon driver for an express company.

She married Raphael Kniffin 1893-1952, a native American, in 1916 in American Falls, Idaho. They had children Helen M. ~1917-?, Philip R. 1920-2004, Daniel E. 1922-2003, Keith R. 1922- 1981 and Myrtle D. ~1939-?.

The family lived in Fort Hall, Idaho on the Fort Hall Indian Reservation, where Raphael was a farmer and Florence a housewife. They moved to Hermision, Oregon in about 1950 where Raphael worked for the Union Pacific Railroad Co.

Raphael died in their home in 1952 after a brief illness. Florence had a second marriage to Lauren William Grove in 1968 in Washington and they lived in Youngtown, Arizona.

She was survived by her daughters, Delores Lewis and Helen Kniffin; sons, Philip and Dan Kniffin; 25 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
