Frank Boothman was the last of five children born to Harry and Ursula. Ursula passed away three weeks later. Harry married Sarah Laws in 1894. Harry was a shoemaker like his father Joseph. About 1908 Frank with his parents immigrated to Saskatchewan. In 1912 Frank was married to Dorothy Trill.
In 1916 Frank enlisted with the 128th battalion at Moose Jaw and saw service overseas until 1919. Frank was wounded and spent five months in hospital. During the wars years Dorothy`s parents Edmund and Clara Jessie Trill helped to care for the three children. Nine more children were born at Briercrest. In 1939 the family moved to Moose Jaw.
Frank was also a shoemaker and a carpenter.
